Trust your lens What a photographer really needs: A camera with a reasonably good lens For a backlit shot, you need a very good, high-contrast lens that isn't prone to backlighting; otherwise, the image quickly becomes a featureless blur. A lens hood, matte box, or lens compendium can improve things considerably. That's why I almost always use a lens hood on my lens (and I find it appalling when my colleagues don't). For this shot, however, I had to remove the lens hood to position the feathers precisely in front of the lens, as the effect wouldn't have worked otherwise. Then you know, trust your lens. Für Gegenlichtaufnahmen benötigt man ein sehr gutes, kontrastreiches Objektiv, das nicht anfällig für Gegenlicht ist; andernfalls wird das Bild schnell zu einem konturlosen Matsch. Eine Gegenlichtblende, eine Mattebox oder ein Kompendium können die Qualität deutlich verbessern. Deshalb verwende ich fast immer eine Gegenlichtblende (und finde es erschreckend, wenn meine Kollegen darauf verzichten). Für diese Aufnahme musste ich die Gegenlichtblende jedoch abnehmen, um die Federn präzise vor dem Objektiv zu positionieren, da der Effekt sonst nicht funktioniert hätte. Dann bleibt dir nur: Vertraue deinem Objektiv.
